We had a very successful concert.
On the menu: The Oshiro-Glazer Collective,
Dave Martin and the TOP Project,
Jens Lindemann with Jennifer Snow,
Sam Rivers and the Rivbea Orchestra.
All the musicians played well, and the audience was small, but appreciative.
We have raised about $2000 for the cause so far, but you can augment that number (see below).
We thanks all the volunteers, musicians, technicians, and the audience.
Of special note was the stellar performance of Jens and Jennifer, who moved people to tears with impeccable playing and almost magical musicianship.
Sam's band was great too, with a Jeff Rupert on fire and a very tight rhythm section. We think that the band sounded more organic and natural with the sparse mic'ing technique that Gary used.
Stay tuned for next year's Orlando Brass Festival!
We would like to thank United Arts of Central Florida,
Jon Gibbs, attorney at law,
Dr. Gregory Boger, MD,
Jerryl Kain, who painted the artwork for the poster,
Gary Baldassari, Gary Faller, David Wallace, Monica Avila, Clare Mills,
and all the donors for the silent auction:
Paula Large, Jerry Darkey, Cirque du Soleil, Macy's, and others TBC.
Should you like to help make quality education more accessible to low income students, you can still donate to:
Timucua Arts Foundation

Please put 2006 OBF in the note section of the check.

2005 Orlando Brass Festival

September 12th 2005
This was a very special concert. A benefit for Terry Warburton, whose house and shop burned to the ground in July 2005.
On the menu: the Timucua Brass Band, The Bill Allred Classic Jazz Band, Elements of Brass, Mark Zauss, and Sovereign Brass.
We raised about $7000 for the cause, and we are happy to report that the Warburton folks are making mouthpieces again.
I was lucky enough to visit the new shop in Oviedo in October 2006, and production was in full swing, and the shop is very productive. Outstanding!!!
