TAFI TAFI

Founded in september 2004, the Timucua Arts Foundation's mission is to encourage the creation and promotion of visual, musical, and literary arts. In short: bring back the arts to the community.

We do that in several ways. We host the Timucua Concert Series. We help musicians to record and market their original music with the Timucua Recording Endowment Fund, we hope to publish books of photographs depicting local artists' work, we will tour the schools with the Timucua Brass Band, and the Regalo opera, and so forth.

We hope that you agree with our position that the arts must play a more important role in our daily lives. After all, art is what makes us human.

You can help the foundation by volunteering, by attending our events, and by donating money. You can also "lend" money to a specific recording or book project. Upon the sale of the finished product, we will recover the production costs first (meaning you should get your money back), and then the artists enjoy the bulk of the proceeds, with the foundation setting a small portion of the proceeds aside to fund future projects. Individuals (or corporations) who "invest" in that way are recognized with a producer's credit on the book or CD.

There are seven levels at which you can donate money.

Dorian (think Milestones)       up to $100

Phrygian (think flamenco)               $500

Lydian (think Monk)                      $1000

Mixolydian (dominant scale)           $3000

Aeolian (think renaissance)              $5000

Locrian (the rarest of modes)          $10000

Major (the perfect mode)                $25000 and up

See our donors page to see who has already given to the Timucua Arts Foundation.
